Noisy Cottage is located in Portland, OR- though, currently, we do not have a physical (or brick-and-mortar) store. We are an alternative family with four children who emphasize art, creativity and a deep celebration of childhood. Noisy Cottage was started not only to help us make ends meet but to be a creative outlet for our family. It is a venture we do together so that, as a community, we can help pay the bills while also doing fun projects and making art.

Both the momma and the poppa bear of Noisy Cottage attended Waldorf school- one in Germany (Bochum) and one in the US (Ghent, NY) and they bring this experience into their daily parenting. The bear cubs knit, play outside, sew, find gnome houses in every tree, read books and tell many stories, keeping alive the magic and wonder of childhood.

We spend our days crafting, learning, having tea times, playing and more. And, in the moments when the bear cubs are off playing with each other or at their local school, Momma Bear gets a chance to sew, felt and craft to create many of the dolls and toys you see on this website. Poppa Bear works outside of the home for as a master carpenter. He uses his spare time to play with the cubs, work on the actual Noisy Cottage (our home) and do projects with the children.
