"African Woman" (not for sale, read more below)

This tapestry is different than my others for several reasons: first, it was a collaborative effort between my mother and myself during our family vacation in March 2007. Second, the format was laid out by my mother who had been conceptualizing it for 8 years but had not yet figured out how to put it out into the world. Third, it is a detailed person which is a first for me and it is a whopping 38 1/2 inches tall by 29 1/2 inches across needle felted onto a 100% wool felt backing. It is semi-three dimensional piece similar to a bas-relief, with real wool dreads and raised facial features, as always it is all 100% wool. I hope you enjoy this new work as I branch out into more and more subjects in the world of needle felted tapestries. I have to say, I truly, truly love needle felting and hope to see more people using it to express their admiration for the beautiful world around all of us.

**UPDATE BELOW**

She now has a cloth frame and an earring thanks to my mother's creativity. Next in line- A handmade necklace (made by my mother) and a wooden frame.
